We’ve stayed in the Purple Pelican on our previous trips & this time was no different than before! The home is always clean & the views are spectacular. Well stocked kitchen with just about any pot/pan or dish you could want. Plenty of towels for our party of seven! We always use Dauphin Island Real Estate when booking our stays simply because they are awesome! This last trip was during Helene & they made sure to stay in contact with us providing information on the forecast as well as tips to prepare. And the locals are always so friendly & welcoming- Highly recommend Skinner’s & Pirate’s Bar & Grill for a taste of local cuisine!

This is our 3rd year coming to Dauphin Island, we absolutely love it. The Purple Pelican was great. Very spacious for all of us, beds we’re comfortable, plenty of towels. The decor went with the name of the house, which was great. There were games we played and the view was beautiful.

We loved our trip to Purple Pelican. The island was nice and we loved the beach access. We had some bad weather but had plenty to do between the pool table and card games. Thanks for an awesome stay and house.
Our family has vacationed at the Purple Pelican for years -- it's an ideal vacation spot for families and friends! It's located right on the beach on Dauphin Island, close enough to restaurants and attractions for convenience, but uncrowded and quiet enough to enjoy its natural beauty and peace. Some of our favorite things are watching the dolphins cruise by or the shrimp boats go out or looking for constellations in the night sky. The house has nicely furnished, spacious bedrooms and a large deck overlooking the gulf. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of dishes and cookware if you prefer to dine in. It offers great options for evening or rainy day entertainment -- a full-size pool table, games, puzzles, large TV with satellite channels. The island also has an aquarium/estuarium and a civil war fort to explore. We always thoroughly enjoy stays at the Purple Pelican.
